STEPHENVILLE - Mary Lynn Hayes Christopher of Stephenville, Texas, died Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2020 from complications of Parkinson’s Disease.
She is survived by her husband, Dr. Joe R. Christopher, of Stephenville; her sister, Lynda Beth Sheehan (and Patrick) of Edmond, OK; her brother-in-law, Thomas Woods Christopher (and Pat) of Boulder, CO; three children, Saralinda Michelle Christopher-Evans (and Shug) of Cedar Park, TX, Vandy Maria Christopher of Fort Worth, TX, and Randell Llewellyn-Hayes Christopher (and Joey) of Rowlett, TX; three grandchildren, Kenneth Shay Evans (and Moon) of Cottage Grove, WI, Christin Mechelle Evans of Austin, TX, and Ryan Shug Evans of Guangzhou, China; one great-grandson, Collin Shay Wai Man Evans, also of Cottage Grove; along with many beloved cousins, nephews, nieces, great-nieces, great- nephews, godchildren, honorary grandchildren, honorary nieces and a host of friends.
Lynn received a B.F.A. in Drama from the University of Oklahoma. She sang in the annual Messiah Concert at Tarleton State University for nearly 40 years until Parkinson’s limited her access to the stage; she was honored in the programs in the following two years. Lynn also ran a daycare business in the Christopher home for a number of years. Beyond music her creativity expressed itself in her hobbies of oil and watercolor painting, ceramics, crocheting, and various aspects of cooking. Lynn was also involved in the community, which included serving as a Girl Scout Leader, cleaning at Project Hope, and helping at St. Luke’s Food Pantry where her Spanish speaking skills were utilized.
When COVID-19 virus permits, Lynn’s memorial service will be held, with interment of her ashes, at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Stephenville.
