Three people are dead following a car crash that took place on SH-6, three miles south of Gorman in Comanche County at 5:03 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon.


Colby Wade Stange, 20, of Orange was traveling east on SH-6 in a 2018 Chevrolet Cruze while Selena Hernandez, 20, of Hico, was traveling west in a 2011 BMW 328i.


Stange crossed into the westbound lane and Hernandez crossed into the eastbound lane to avoid a collision with Strange.


Stange returned to the eastbound lane, crashing into Hernandez.


Stange was wearing a seatbelt during the crash and was transported to Comanche County Medical Center with a stable/incapacitating injury.


Hernandez was also wearing a seatbelt and was transported to Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene with a serious/incapacitating injury.


Three of Hernandez’ passengers did not survive the crash.


Everardo Palacios, 19, of Conroe, Bertha Gloria Muniz, 20, of Hico and Eric Arthur Jason Martinez, 21, of Hico were all pronounced dead at the scene and their bodies were taken to Comanche Funeral Home.


None of the passengers were wearing seatbelts.


The crash is still under investigation.
