Sixteen Stephenville High School DECA members attended the Texas DECA Career Development Conference in Fort Worth on Feb. 20-22. Approximately 5,300 students competed in 50 events.
Jason Miller is the alternate in the Retail Merchandising Individual Series event and Hunter Merrill is the alternate in the Integrated Marketing Campaign: Product event. The two students will compete if the finalist is unable to attend.
SHS DECA was recognized with certificates for their completion of the Promotional Campaign and Community Service Campaign.
Since the state conference, the Emerging Leaders Series Academy selections have been made: Hunter Merrill and Chinmayee Lalgondar were selected to attend the Thrive Academy; Nirjal Upadhayay will attend the Elevate Academy; Udayan Bhandari will attend the Aspire Academy; and Jared Parsons will attend the Ignite Academy. These five students will be representing Texas DECA as well as Stephenville DECA at the International Career Development Conference in Nashville on April 28-May 2.
