Erath County voters anxious to cast an early ballot in the state’s primary election have made it to the polls in steady numbers.

County Clerk Gwinda Jones said as of noon Thursday, 1,176 residents have cast ballots at the Erath County Courthouse and Dublin Annex since early voting got underway Tuesday.

That number breaks down to 1,076 at the courthouse and 100 in Dublin.

“I really expected more, but I think the weather has held the number down,” Jones told the E-T. “”But it’s still a good turnout. At this point in the 2016 election, we had about 800 voters.”
