The Cross Timbers Fine Arts Council has named its new executive director - Christine Newton, a graduate of Southern Illinois University with a bachelor’s degree in communications.

Newton joins CTFAC with experience in marketing and the arts, having worked with Keller Williams, Will Rogers Memorial Center and Amon Carter Museum of American Art in Fort Worth.

She and her husband Jon, a Tarleton State University alumni, recently moved back to his hometown of Stephenville from Arlington.

In her new role with CTFAC, Newton will be curator for the three galleries, oversee and plan concerts and events, organize fundraising efforts and manage art classes and  summer camps.

"We are thrilled to have Christine on board,” said board president Kelijon Nance. “Her depth of experience, love of the arts and management capabilities will complement our vision for the future of the Cross Timbers Fine Arts Council.”

The public is invited to meet Newton at the annual Ragin Cajun-Crawdad Shrimp Boil and ARTIgras Festival March 27-28.
