Skip making dinner and instead make plans to grab a piping hot bowl of homemade soup during the 7th annual soup-to-go fundraiser from 4:30-6:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 27, at the Historical House Museum.
The dinner will include potato soup, seasoned crackers, salad and brownie for $10.
Proceeds benefit the Oxford House Preservation Project.
“This is always a fun event and we look forward to it every year,” board member Dianne Wilson told the E-T in a previous interview. “We start cooking early that morning and cook all day. We appreciate the community’s support for the Oxford House renovations and the support of the museum.”
Tickets can be purchased at the museum’s office, The Home Place at ACE, Stephenville Senior Citizens Center or from any board member.
Those who purchase tickets will pick up their meal in a drive-thru at the Center Grove School on the museum grounds.
“Drivers will be met in front of the school by ticket takers who will deliver their meals to the vehicle so that soup purchasers need not exit their vehicles,” Wilson said.
In the case of inclement weather the event will be postponed until the following Monday, Feb. 3.
