Local business owners Rhyne and Sarah Gailey are connecting with the community in a unique way - be reaching out to its college students.

The Gaileys traded in their usual purple and white Saturday for a chance to wear pink in recognition of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The Gaileys, who own Stephenville Rents, a group of townhomes located near the university, hosted a community-wide tailgate in Texan Alley Saturday afternoon at Tarleton’s Memorial Stadium.

“We love Tarleton and its students,” Sarah said.

The majority of employees at Stephenville Rents are either Tarleton graduates like Sarah or current students.

“We run our business like a family,” Rhyne said. “And when our tenants come in, they feel that.”

Saturday’s tailgate hosted by Stephenville Rents included pink cotton candy, pink margaritas and a whole lot of fun.

Stephenville Rents is also sponsoring a half-time kick all season long, giving a college student a chance to win free rent for one year.

“Anyone who makes the pass-punt kick will get free rent for one year in any of our townhomes,” Sarah said.
