A little recent rain wasn’t enough to keep the burn ban lifted for long.
More dry conditions prompted Erath County commissioners to reinstate a 90-day ban on outdoor burning beginning Monday.
The burn ban also places restrictions on outdoor welding.
“Anyone who is welding has to wet the area and have a person watching on standby and it has to be done in an area that is free of vegetation,” Campos told the E-T. “If you are cooking outdoors you have to have a lid, that is the only exception.”
Violation of the burn ban is a Class C misdemeanor punishable by up to a $500 fine
