The Stephenville Music Club will once again host the annual Valentine Musical started by Joyce Hillin 26 years ago.

This year’s event will take place at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 10, at the Chapel on the Bosque on the grounds of the Stephenville Historical House Museum.

The musical will feature a variety of love songs and open with “Love is a Many-Splendored Thing” played on the organ by Marion Cole.

“Joyce (Hillin) has moved away due to health reasons, but she wanted us to continue doing the musical so we do it in her honor,” said Cole. “She was always seeking out new and different talent. She loved putting this on. It was her gift to the community.”

The free musical will feature a variety of 18 performances.

“This year we have added a line dancing routine and we have some children who will play the piano,” Cole said. “We also have a young harpist coming from Hico. It’s so much fun and we have a really good time. The audience is always enthusiastic and we usually have a packed house.”
