The Stephenville chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma invites the public to its annual Book Review and Tasting Tea on Saturday, Jan. 26, at 10 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall.

At the book review, local author Sherri Knight will present her acclaimed book, “Death List: Trail of Terror.”

The book’s synopsis states that “Panic gripped Erath County for three long days when the largest manhunt in the history of North Central Texas brought over 200 lawmen into the area. Rumors abounded that the convicts had a ‘death list’ that included district attorney Bob Glasgow among others. Roadblocks were set all about, schools shut down, locals huddled behind closed doors with loaded guns ever ready, as barking dogs at the Wise Arena anticipated an eventual shootout with the manic trio.”

Knight is a sixth-generation Texan. She grew up on a dairy farm in rural Erath County where she attended Lingleville and Dublin public schools before graduating from Stephenville High School at the age of 16.

She then attended Tarleton State University and graduated with degrees in English and History plus a Masters in Education.

Tickets for the Book Review and Tasting Tea are $10 and proceeds go toward scholarships for education majors.
