If you have been collecting tickets in KSTV’s $10,000 “shop local” campaign, now is the time to get them organized.

The drawing for the winner will be held at 7 p.m. Monday at Birdsong Amphitheater at Stephenville City Park.

“It’s been another great campaign,” said KSTV’s Bob Haschke. “The merchants have loved it.”

The campaign was started three years ago in an effort to inspire residents to shop local this Christmas season.

Participating businesses gave shoppers a ticket for every $10 they spent. An estimated 100,000 tickets were give away this year alone.

Haschke said about 4,500 people showed up to last year’s drawing at City Park.

“Folks may want to come early,” Haschke said. “We will be giving away a lot of prizes before the drawing and people just need to show up to register for that.”

The Knights of Columbus will also be there with free coffee and hot chocolate.

The drawing for the $10,000 will begin at 7 p.m. sharp.

“The winner has five minutes to come forward with the ticket or we will draw another one,” he said.

The third time has been the charm the last two years.

“We are wishing everyone good luck and we thank them for shopping locally this holiday season,” Haschke said. “It might just win them $10,000.”
