Robert Rouse, a 47-year-old Dublin resident, died Friday as a result of a motorcycle crash on FM 219 two miles north of Dublin, according to DPS Staff Sergeant Dub Gillum.

Rouse was driving his 2014 Harley Davidson motorcycle north on FM 219 at approximately 11:42 p.m. Friday when he drove off the right side of the roadway as he entered a left-hand curve for an unknown reason, Gillum stated. The motorcycle struck a pile of asphalt.

Rouse was flown by air ambulance to Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital in Stephenville where he later died from his injuries, according to Gillum.

Rouse was not wearing a helmet, according to the report.

Gillum noted that no other information is available at this time.
