There is a new option coming to Stephenville for those who need help providing food for their families.

HOPE Inc. has teamed up with the five local food pantries and Tarrant County Food Bank to bring a truck of fresh fruits and vegetables as well as other pantry staples on the third Thursday of every month.

Director of Hope Jill Scott said that she and other local pantries have been collaborating for over a year with Tarrant County Food Bank to get the project started.

The food truck will have a variety of options and it will be different each month.

“Tarrant County Food Bank will decide what’s delivered so it will be interesting to see the selections each month and give variety to the customers,” Scott said.

The event will be held in the parking lot of the First Baptist Church, 334 W Green Street from 5-7 p.m. There is a short application to qualify if you have never visited the food bank. Those who already have a card or signed up can shop just like at the local food banks.

“We won’t know ahead of time what the truck will bring but it will have fresh fruits and vegetables which will be a great asset to those in need or who otherwise cannot afford this option,” Scott said.
