Neal Thompkins, 62, of Dublin, passed away Monday night after striking a  concrete pillar near the Hwy. 67 overpass in Dublin.

“Troopers found that a Ford truck, driven by Thompkins, was traveling east on Hwy. 6 and for an unknown reason drove off the north side of the roadway and struck a concrete pillar,” DPS Sgt. Dub Gillum wrote in a statement. “(Thompkins) died at the scene and was pronounced dead by Justice of the Peace Mark Greenway. Thompkins was taken to Harrell Funeral Home in Dublin. Next of kin has been notified.”

Gillum said there were no other passengers or vehicles involved in the crash and no other information is available.
