Who’s ready to enjoy some ice cream and do a little mingling?

Residents will get their chance Thursday when the Stephenville Downtown Merchants Association hosts its second annual ice cream social from 6-8 p.m. on the courthouse square.

”This year we are selling wristbands for $2 and that gets you tastings at all the stores,” said KayLee Pemberton, president of the organization. “So far we have at least 10 stores that are making their own ice cream.”

Proceeds from the event will be used for the continued beautification of the downtown area.

Residents who participate can register at each store for a chance to win an ice cream maker and basket of ice cream fixings.

“So the more stores you visit, the more chances you have to win the grand prize,” Pemberton said. “The drawing will take place at the end of the evening.”

Pemberton said the family-friendly event will also feature classic cars and an upbeat atmosphere that is perfect for a warm summer night.
