The weekend is approaching with some great happenings in Stephenville and the surrounding area. Make it a good one!

1. Cody Davis’ Pride of Stephenville Art Exhibit

Don’t miss the last day of the Cody Davis’ Pride of Stephenville Art Exhibit on display at Bruner GM on Friday. The exhibit features the best pieces from Stephenville art students.

2. KSB Garden Tour

It’s not too late to purchase a $10 ticket for the Keep Stephenville Beautiful Garden Tour kicking off at 9 a.m. Saturday. Tickets can be purchased at Scott’s Flowers, the Chamber of Commerce or a KSB member or the day of at the Trogdon House on the Tarleton campus. 3. Bug Picking

Round up the kids and head to Dinosaur Valley State Park for its Bug Picking educational event taking place from 2-3 p.m. Saturday at the main track site parking lot. A park ranger will help participants look for, catch and study small organisms found in and around the river. Nets, trays and magnifiers will be provided and the event is appropriate for all ages. 4. Essential Oils 101

Learn the basics of essential oils at a free 101 event taking place from 2-3 p.m. Saturday at the Stephenville Public Library. Michele Bryant will teach participants about living chemical free and will have starter kits for sale. For more information call 254-485-8420.

5. Overlook Hike

Enjoy a morning outdoors at Dinosaur Valley’s Overlook Hike kicking off at 9 a.m. Sunday at the main track site parking lot. Participants will hike to the top of the overlook to view the park and Paluxy River. Those attending are asked to bring water and snack and to wear good shoes that can get a little wet.
