Over the course of two weeks Dublin had a total of five structure fires, two of which are being investigated as possible arson, according to Dublin police.
“There have been more (fires) than usual,” said Sgt. Cameron Ray. “We’ve had two possible arson fires and three additional residential fires that we believe were accidental.”
According to Ray, the first fire was a mattress that was lit near a mobile home and then spread. The second, an old couch that was lit on fire, which then spread to a building.
“We have a person of interest, but haven’t made any arrests. We are still investigating,” Ray said.
On Sunday, June 10, a house fire claimed the life of 35-year-old Jeremy Ware.
Ray said that house fire is also under investigation.
