St. Luke’s Episcopal Church hosted a community wide event June 2 called Walk for Peace. Community members quietly gathered at the church’s prayer labyrinth for the event from 6-10 a.m. The purpose was to silently focus on how people can build a culture of peace free from poverty, oppression and violence.
“We had people from different denominations and spiritual backgrounds show up to prayerfully take part and contemplate peace.” said Rev. Bradley Dyche. “The event was open to the public and that’s what we really wanted to communicate with this event. We are all responsible for lifting up peace individually and corporately in the midst of the communities we live and work in.”
