HUCKABAY – State Highway 108 will be closed at Salt Creek for approximately three months beginning at 8 a.m. Friday, June 1, while the bridge is replaced. Through traffic will be detoured to US Highway 281 and Farm-to-Market Road 1188 or drivers can seek alternate routes.
The bridge replacement is part of a project to add shoulder on SH 108 from the Palo Pinto County line to the city of Huckabay. The traveling public should expect various temporary lane closures along SH 108 as the project progresses.
This 13-mile project was awarded to Jay Mills Contracting for $6 million. It is estimated for completion this fall.
Safety is a top priority at TxDOT, and the foundation for the agency’s planning, building and maintaining of projects across the state.
