The big event is nearing and tickets for the Empire-Tribune’s Best of Erath County “Belt Buckle Ball” are on sale now.

The awards gala will take place at 6 p.m. Saturday, June 9, at Twisted J Live. The event will feature a dinner catered by Greer’s Ranch Cafe and live entertainment by Courtney Patton and Cottonwood Crows.

“It’s going to be bigger, better and more exciting,” said E-T ad director Melissa Horton. “One of things I like about doing the Best of Erath is that it gives business owners a chance to feel good about how hard they work and be awarded for the good things they do in the community.”

This year’s top three finalists for Person of the Year are Dereece Howell, Julie Crouch-Smith and Sheriff Matt Coates.

Winners in all other categories, including several new ones like Teacher of the Year and Law Enforcement Officer of the Year, will be announced during the event.

A magazine that includes the winners in each category and photos from the E-T’s “Belt Buckle Ball” will be published in July.

A limited number of tickets will be sold and packages are available for purchase by calling 965-3124 or 325-998-2056 or visit the E-T office located at 702 E. South Loop.

Tickets will include dinner, drinks, entertainment and awards.
