The highly-anticipated Texstar Ford Summer Nights Concert Series is kicking off its first show next month at Stephenville City Park’s Birdsong Amphitheater.
“It’s hard to believe it’s been 18 years,” said Doug Montgomery, owner of Texstar Ford who sponsors the event. “We appreciate the support of the community.”
The series will start at 8 p.m. Thursday, May 31, with Roger Creager and Scotty Kirby; followed by Casey Donahew on June 7; Michael Martin Murphy on June 21; Larry Joe Taylor and Tejas Brothers on July 4; Ricky Skaggs on July 19; Moe Bandy on Aug. 9; and Asleep at the Wheel on Oct. 13.
“Ricky Skaggs just got inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame and that’s a big deal, so I’m glad he is coming back to Stephenville,” Montgomery said. “Roger Creagar will be coming for the first time and that’s exciting. Casey Donahew will be here again and he drew the biggest crowd we have ever had in the park.”
The concerts are free to attend and residents are invited to bring blankets, chairs, snacks and drinks to enjoy during the performances.
