Voters will have their first chance to cast an early ballot in the city and school election when polls open bright and early Monday morning.

Polls will be open from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Erath County Courthouse and from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. April 30-May 1.

Election Day is Saturday, May 5.

 On the ballot

There is a lot at stake this election cycle.

Headlining the local ballot is a $60.8 million school bond that includes across-the-board improvements to the high school and security upgrades.

There are also two contested races for school board and three contested races for Stephenville City Council.
