We have been watching Jordyn Lopez’s sweet creations for a long time, but it was the Sephora cake that sent us over the edge.
The Oreo-flavored cake designed to look like a Sephora shopping bag included an eyeshadow pallet, makeup brush and nail polish - the perfect cake to celebrate a young woman’s 18th birthday.
“I love baking cakes and I do a lot during wedding season,” Jordyn said.
The young baker with a flair for the unique grew up in Stephenville as Jordyn Wallace.
“I went to school in Stephenville until my sophomore year, then I transferred to Huckabay and graduated in 2013,” she said.
It was her during senior year of high school when she began focusing on baking and started taking orders.
“My passion for baking started with my mom and grandmother,” she said. “We always made a lot of pies and cookies during the holidays.”
Jordyn turned that skill into a booming business - Sweet Creations - and stays busy whipping up sweets - cookies, cakes and cake pops - for any special occasion.
“I am really busy during the spring with graduations and birthdays,” she said. “I am completely booked up this month but have a couple spots open in May.”
For the young business entrepreneur, it’s a fantastic problem to have.
