Stephenville police say an informant helped investigators build a case against an alleged cocaine dealer.

Daniel Fuentes, 23, was taken into custody April 11.

“He lives in Dublin but sells cocaine in Stephenville,” Lt. Don Miller said. “We have been watching him for a long time.”

Miller said an informant purchased cocaine from Fuentes on two separate occasions in 2017, but they waited to make an arrest.

“We were working several cases at the time and didn’t want to risk revealing our informant,” Miller said.

Fuentes has a long criminal history dating back to 2012. He has been arrested at least 11 times, charged with drug possession, disorderly conduct, driving without a license or insurance, assault on a public servant, DUI and escape from custody.

He has been charged with manufacturing/delivery of a controlled substance and is being held at the Erath County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
