If songs like, “When your phone don’t ring, it’ll be me,” and “The last suit you wear won’t need no pockets” sound like they might just be your cup of tea, the Glen Rose Bluegrass Jamboree Festival is probably the place for you.
And if you missed Thursday’s performances, don’t worry. Two more shows are on tap for Friday and Saturday.
Multiple bands kicked off Thursday’s opening day at Oakdale Park, which is at 1019 NE Barnard St. in Glen Rose. Friday performances will be from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. On Saturday, the bands will be playing from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.
The bands scheduled to perform Friday and Saturday are Catahoula Drive, the Kevin Prater Band, Mark Phillips & IIIrd Generation, the Kody Norris Show, and the Robert Mabe Band.
The festival has been held in Glen Rose almost every year since 1972. It had been staged under a different name for a while, but regained its original moniker last fall. The jamboree will continue to be held each spring and fall, according to organizers.
Tickets are $25 per person. Kids under age 16 get in free.
