Stephenville was the only city in Texas recently selected by Polaris Industries as one of the top five cities across the nation to compete for the Polaris Ranger Country USA title.
The contest is in celebration of the building the company’s one millionth Polaris Ranger. According to Polaris Stephenville was selected because of our embodiment of the Ranger spirit.
A film crew was in town on Nov. 6 to shoot footage of local rangers in action. The company will feature the five cities, in short videos, on the Ranger Polaris website ranger.polaris.com. They filmed our police and fire departments’ Rangers in action as well as a Ranger working on a local ranch.
As an added bonus, there was extra footage of the Police Ranger working the crowd while the crew was in town for the postponed Safe Trick or Treat.
If Stephenville is selected to become Polaris Ranger Country USA the city will receive the one millionth Ranger and four other Rangers and the community will receive a party and a concert by a major recording artist.
“I think I’m more excited about the party and the concert than anything,” said City Administrator Allen Barnes. “It will give Stephenville the opportunity to come out and celebrate who we are.”
Voting for Polaris Ranger Country USA begins Monday, Nov. 27, and goes for three weeks.
People can go to ranger.polaris.com to vote. Each person can vote one time per day. We will need everyone to vote every day to win this contest.
One person voting for the winning city, will also win a new Polaris Ranger.
“Every vote is important and we ask everyone to show Stephenville pride,” Barnes wrote in a press release. “With Stephenville citizens and Tarleton students we can make this happen.”
