The weekend is approaching with some fun family-friendly events taking place in Stephenville. Make it a good one!

1. Senior Citizens Center book sale

Browse a variety of hardcover and paperback books from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday when the Stephenville Senior Citizens Center hosts a book sale. 2. Stephenville Farmers Market

If you’ve missed the last two Farmers Market, fear not! The Stephenville Farmers Market will be back from 9 a.m.-noon Saturday in the Downtown Plaza. The market features local plants, fruits and vegetables. For more information call 254-977-2553.

3. Christmas open house at Ace

Register for a Christmas Wish List, enjoy gourmet food samplings and earn a chance to win door prizes at The Home Place at Ace’s Christmas open house taking place from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday. 4. Hurricane Harvey Dog Adoption

Looking for a new furry family member? Cornerstone Animal Hospital took in several dogs during Hurricane Harvey and the hospital is now trying to get these pets their forever homes by holding an adoption event from 3-5 p.m. Saturday. There will be an adoption fee of $50 and all dogs are up-to-date on vaccines, heart-worm tested, intestinal parasite tested and are taking heart-worm and flea and tick preventatives. 5. Catch a flick

If you’re not feeling outdoorsy this weekend then catch a flick at the local theater. Cinemark Cinema 6 will be showing two new movies, A Bad Moms Christmas and Thor: Ragnarok. Whether you enjoy comedies or action, one of these movies will fit your preference.
