It’s that time of year when folks start gearing up for the holidays and why not get a little Christmas shopping done early at the Stephenville Parks and Recreation Department’s (SPARD) and Zonta Club’s 52nd annual Arts, Crafts and Gifts Show next weekend.
The show will be open from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 3, and 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday at the Recreation Hall and Pavilion.
In previous years vendors have sold a variety of goods ranging from home decor to candles, jewelry, soaps, clothing, knives and even self-defense paraphernalia.
“We pretty much have everything this year and most of it is handcrafted,” said Recreation Coordinator Ashley Snyder. “We have 162 spots all together and 159 rented out, so we have three more available.”
Anyone interested in one of those vendor spaces has until Wednesday, Nov. 1, to sign up by calling the SPARD office at 254-918-1295 or visiting the office located where the show will be held.
Booths inside the gym are $45 and space under the pavilion is $75.
A percentage of booth sales go back to SPARD and the Stephenville Zonta Club.
“The proceeds are split half and half with us and Zonta,” Snyder said. “The Zonta Club’s proceeds go toward scholarships.”
The Zonta Club is a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing the status of women through advocacy and service and will once again have a concession stand at the show selling food to help satisfy shoppers’ hunger while browsing the booths.
“I enjoy seeing everybody out and all the different crafts the vendors make,” Snyder said. “I also get all my Christmas presents there.”
