The 6th annual Bacon Bash Texas will be held Saturday, Oct. 21, on the main streets of Cranfills Gap. Bacon Bash Texas is a bacon cook-off and festival hosted each year in an effort to raise money for two causes: Niki Warms The Cold and to benefit children with Type One Diabetes.
This year’s event is projected to have over 50 cook-off teams and will bring 1500 festival goers to the Central Texas community. The 2017 competition has attracted many professional teams, including 3015 at Trinity Groves of Dallas, Grace Restaurant of Fort Worth, and Perfect Fit Meals of Houston. In addition to bragging rights, the winning teams will split a monetary payout of $10,000 with the top team also being featured on the back of 45,000 packages of Pederson’s Natural Farms bacon distributed nationally.
Ticket holders will enjoy bacon and pork butt samples and will be able to top it all off with selections of craft and domestic beers, Bloody Marys made with Trinity River Distillery’s Silver Star Vodka and Bloody Revolution mix, cocktails made with Dublin Bottling Works sodas, and Texas wines. Texas wineries attending include Brennan Vineyards of Comanche, William Chris Vineyards of Hye, Landon Winery of DFW, and Silver Spur Winery of Hico.
2017 Bacon Bash celebrity judges are Ty Murray (PBR), Mike Newton (recent MasterChef contestant), Mike Micallef (Reata Restaurant Fort Worth), Aaron Perry (Social Media Manager for Joe Perry & Self Proclaimed Foodie), and several others. Additionally, the event will feature a bacon eating contest, Corn Hole Tournament sponsored by GameGuard, a great lineup of Texas Country music, and a live auction.
Tickets purchased at baconbashtexas.com before the event are $50 and will be $65 at the gate.
