Dot, a three-month-old female boxer mix, was brought to the Erath County Humane Society in July as an owner-surrender but her owner failed to mention that this sweet puppy is deaf, and now ECHS Executive Director Diane McCoy is looking for a special family or individual to bring Dot to her forever home.
“She was born deaf and is very sweet and great with other dogs and people. She will follow other dogs around and learn from them,” McCoy said. “She’s a special needs dog so she can really only be with someone who has had experience with a special needs dog. It takes a lot of patience.”
Dot has had her vaccines and has been wormed.
McCoy said she reached out to Second Chance Farm in Granbury about taking Dot, but hasn’t heard back yet and really wants her to be adopted by someone who can satisfy her needs.
“We will keep her until we find someone who is fit to take her,” McCoy said.
The Erath County Humane Society will have half price adoptions this Saturday, which will range from $15-$37.50 during business hours.
