For Tarleton State University students needing coffee and donuts to jump-start the day, help is coming.

Dunkin’ Donuts moves into the “C” Store below the dining hall on the Stephenville campus about Nov. 1. Expect a full menu of breakfast sandwiches, too.

The convenience store is relocating to Texan Village, near the water tower on the north side of campus, where it will open after Dunkin’ Donuts’ ribbon cutting.

“Students want something new and exciting,” said Kimberly Miller, general manager of Tarleton’s food service provider, Sodexo. “A survey proved Dunkin’ Donuts to be a top choice.”

A year in the making, remodeling to accommodate the Dunkin’ Donuts is expected to begin in mid-August and cost $1.5 million.

In addition to credit and debit cards and cash, students on meal plans can use Dining Dollars for purchases.

Dunkin’ Donuts joins Starbucks and Chick-Fil-A as nationally branded food choices on campus, with two more outlets on the horizon.

“We hope to have a Baskin-Robbins at some point in TSU Media Relationsthe future,” Miller said. “We’re talking to McAlister’s Deli about a spot in Texan Village and looking for the best spot to locate a semi-permanent food truck.”
