Amira — a female labrador — is our Pet of the Week and she is a true sweetie who’s temporarily living with the good folks and other nice animals at the Erath County Human Society.
“She’s really friendly, smart and gentle,” says ECHS Executive Director Diane McCoy. “She’s good with other male dogs but not so good with females. She’s an owner surrender so we know she’s good with kids and people in general. We’ve had her since August and we’d really love to see someone adopt her because she’s good inside and out, is house trained and good on a leash. She’ll be a great companion for someone.”
Amira is about eight years old, and McCoy says, “That’s about middle-age for a lab, so she’ll be around for awhile. She’s just the nicest dog, quiet and she knows basic commands, so there’s no puppy stuff to go through. She’s not going to chew up your shoes.”
She’s in excellent health, but she’s not spayed and will need her rabies shot.
You can meet Amira at the ECHS by stopping in at 891 East Road or calling 254-965-3247 for more information.
Hours are 1-5 p.m. Monday—Friday and the first Saturday of the month from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
