The Stephenville Police Department and the Public Works Department announced Friday that due to the continuing Methodist Branch infrastructure project, certain temporary traffic changes and parking restrictions are being made.

In a meeting between Nick Williams, director of public works, Police Chief Jason King, and the E-T, King said, “Beginning Monday, February 27, and continuing through the next three weeks, several changes in traffic flow on Ollie Street and around Hook Elementary will be made.”

King listed the following changes to parking restrictions:

• 200 block Baxter - No parking on the west side of the street

• 800 block Neblett - No parking on the west side of the street

• 1100 block West Shirley - No parking on either side of the street

Road Closures:

• Ollie Street will be closed from Sloan to Vanderbilt

• Ollie Street will also be closed from Vanderbilt to Jones

• Four-way stop signs will be in place at Ollie and Shirley, and Neblett and Shirley

• Jones Street from Hook Elementary will be right turns only onto Ollie

• Parents of Hook Elementary third grade students will need to approach from Frey Street to Jones for drop-off and pick-up

Williams added, “These parking and traffic restrictions are necessary to assist with SISD bus routes. We’d like to thank everyone for their cooperation and understanding during this project.”
