With the Texas high school football season down to its final week, two Stephenville players were recognized for their efforts on the field this season by being named to the Associated Press' 4A all-state team.

The two players were senior defensive lineman Ragan Wood and junior safety Mason Holstein.

"This is a great thing for these young men. They both worked hard every day throughout the season and over their careers and both had tremendous seasons," said Stephenville head coach Greg Winder. "It's a great thing for those young men to receive this recognition."

While Holstein will be back with the Yellow Jackets in 2017, Wood ends his career at Stephenville with one of the state's top honors.

"It's been a great honor to coach Ragan. He was here every day and worked hard from the get-go," said Winder. "He got better every single day. He was one of our leaders on our football team and it was a great honor to coach him."

Wood and Holstein helped anchor the Stephenville defense on a team that finished the season as bi-district finalists.
