STEPHENVILLE – For the third straight season, Tarleton Volleyball has been selected to the NCAA Division II South Central Regional tournament.
The TexAnns are the No. 3 seed and will take on No. 6 Regis in San Angelo on Dec. 1. Angelo State, the No. 1 seed, will host the South Central Regional tournament.
Tarleton went 26-6 during the regular season and 16-4 in the Lone Star Conference. The TexAnns advanced to the Lone Star Conference tournament championship game for the third year in a row.
Regis, who competes in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, went 18-11 overall and 12-6 in conference play. Regis lost in the RMAC tournament semifinals to Metro State.
The other matchups in the regional tournament are No. 1 Angelo State vs. No. 8 Texas A&M-Kingsville, No. 4 Colorado Mines vs. No. 5 Arkansas-Fort Smith and No. 2 Metro State vs. No. 7 Colorado Mesa.
The South Central regional tournament will take place Dec. 1-3. The top eight teams in the regional rankings at the end of conference tournament championship weekend advanced to the NCAA postseason. The conference tournament champions are guaranteed an automatic berth into the playoffs. The South Central region is comprised of the Lone Star Conference, the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference and the Heartland Conference.
