The Honeybees won their second straight game Tuesday night in a rough contest against area rival Granbury.
The first half featured early mistakes and turnovers by both teams, but it was Granbury who marched out to an early 8-3 lead.
The Lady Pirates struggled to shoot from the field, but scored a majority of their early baskets by breaking the Stephenville press and converting lay-ups.
Stephenville would make a run near the back half of the first, outscoring Granbury 6-2 over the last several minutes to take a 10-9 deficit to the second quarter.
While Stephenville began the game slow on offense, they did wake up in the second hitting several threes, including big shots from Hailey Martin and Jordan Carter. The effective shooting from downtown helped Stephenville head to the break up by three, 23-20.
After taking the lead before halftime, Stephenville wouldn't lose it again, outscoring the Lady Pirates 50-42.
Stephenville's leading scorer in the contest was guard Hailey Martin who finished the game with 12-points, including three three-pointers. Also having a solid evening was Jordan Carter who hit two three-pointers and finished with eight points.
The Honeybees will be back in action next Monday night wen they host Fossil Ridge.
