WASHINGTON (AP) — Things to look for in the next hour on Election Day:
— The outcome of the presidential election could become clearer after polls close at 9 p.m. in 14 states, including closely watched Arizona, Colorado, Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin. Big prizes in Texas' 38 electoral votes and New York's 29 also could be decided.
— With victories by Sens. Marco Rubio in Florida and Rob Portman in Ohio, Republicans have retained two seats the Democrats once hoped to pick up. But overall control of the Senate remains in doubt. In Wisconsin, Republican incumbent Sen. Ron Johnson is trying to hang on in the face of a strong challenge from Democrat Russ Feingold, who lost his seat to Johnson six years ago. In Arizona, Republican Sen. John McCain is seeking his sixth term.
— Arizona voters are deciding on marijuana legalization and a minimum wage increase, which also is on the ballot in Colorado.
