As football season begins to draw to a close this weekend, many Tarleton fans will be filling Wisdom Gym Friday and Saturday evening to catch of a glimpse of this year's teams as both the Texans and TexAnns will take part in their annual tip-off classics.
The No. 10 Texans will look to ride the momentum from their 77-49 exhibition win over Southwestern Christian on Sunday into Friday's game against Adams State.
The Grizzlies took part in last year's Texan Tip-Off and were downed by Angelo State and the Texans. They will enter Friday's game coming off of a 88-83 exhibition loss to Grand Canyon University.
Tarleton's second game of the weekend is scheduled for Saturday evening where they'll face off with the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs (UCCS).
Like Adams State, the Mountain Lions also took part in last year's classic and will look to avenge a 75-66 loss that they suffered to the Texans in 2015.
UCCS is coming off of a 17-13 season, while Adams State finished last year with a 13-15 record.
Also taking part in the Texan Tip-Off Classic is new Lone Star Conference member University of Texas-Permian Basin.
The Texans' games are scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. on both Friday and Saturday nights.
Moving to the TexAnn's Classic, traveling to Stephenville are Missouri S&T, St. Mary's University and LSC opponent Cameron University.
The TexAnns will start the weekend with a match up against Missouri S&T Friday and then will play St. Mary's Saturday evening. Both games are scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.
The Lady Miners from Missouri S&T finished 2015-16 with a 8-17 record and are coming off of a 68-66 exhibition win over Webster University. St. Mary's lost their only exhibition game against UTEP and finished last season with an impressive 18-10 record.
