Looking for a delicious meal on Election Day? St. Luke’s Episcopal Church has your back and will host its 61st annual Mexican Supper from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. and 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 8, at the church located at the corner of Vanderbilt and McIlhaney streets.

The lunch will feature a taco buffet - large plate, $7; small plate, $5 - and the dinner will feature an enchilada supper - adult plates, $10; child plates, $5.

Chili, beans, nachos and homemade pralines will also be available for purchase.

Donations and proceeds from the annual supper will benefit local charities and outreach needs.

“We raised $7,500 last year,” St. Luke’s Parish Administrator Terri Binkley said. “We were able to give to different charities in our community like Meals on Wheels, Choices, Habitat for Humanity, HOPE, Backpack Buddies, Kiwanis Rainbow Room, Disabled American Veterans, Senior Citizen’s Center and St. Luke’s Food Pantry. The more we raise the more we can give to organizations in our community.”

And if you don’t have time to go through the line and sit to enjoy your meal, don’t worry because lunch delivery and take out are available by calling 254-968-6949.

“We look forward to the excitement of the people in our community who look forward to this and we get to see every year,” Binkley said. “There are so many people who have come for years, as well as people who have moved away and will come back to eat with us on this day.”
