Applications are now being accepted at City Hall for the city’s various boards and commissions. The deadline for filing an application is Wednesday, Nov. 9. Members of the City Council Nominations Committee will review the applications on Nov. 15, and the city council will confirm the appointments Dec.  6. Members of this committee are Rhett Harrison, Chairman; Jerry Warren and Carla Trussell. 

Any Stephenville resident may apply for a position by completing and filing an application form with the city secretary. Limited positions exist for county residents on the airport, library, senior citizens, and parks and recreation boards.   Forms are available at City Hall and on the city’s website at

Appointments will be considered for the following boards: Planning and Zoning Commission, Airport Advisory Board, Board of Adjustment, Dangerous Buildings Abatement Board, Library Advisory Board, Parks and Recreation Advisory Board, Water Conservation Committee, Senior Citizens Advisory Board, and Stephenville Type B Economic Development Authority. Terms are for a two-year period.

Appointments will also be considered for the Building Board, Electrical Board, Mechanical Board, and Plumbing Board; however, members of these boards are limited to the trade profession.
