The Erath County Sheriff’s Office arrested four individuals Tuesday during an undercover narcotics sting called a buy bust - an operation where detectives purchase drugs from an unsuspecting dealer.
“Our guys have been kicking dopers butts,” Sheriff Tommy Bryant said. “We had been buying marijuana from this person since May and this is an ongoing investigation in the trafficking of marijuana in the Stephenville and Erath County area.”
Deputies entered the home of Tyler Lee Pittman, 22, in the 500 block of E. Long St. to purchase a quarter ounce of marijuana.
“There were three other subjects inside the living room where the negotiations took place,” Bryant said. “There were numerous amounts of drug paraphernalia and marijuana laying around the room where the suspects were seated. The signal was given to the deputies waiting outside and they came in and made the arrests.”
Pittman was charged with delivery of marijuana, possession of a dangerous drug, possession of a prohibited weapon (brass knuckles) and possession of marijuana and is in the Erath County Jail on a combined bond of $7,500.
Woody Rocky Rhodes, 31, and Alex Sean Hanks, 20, were arrested and both charged with possession of marijuana and possession of a dangerous drug; $1,500 bonds.
Christopher Dale Maberry, 29, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana; $500 bond.
