Up for adoption as our Pet of the Week is Harriett, a sweet, gentle Schnauzer-mix female.

Diane McCoy, executive director of the Erath County Human Society, said, “She was a stray, so we don’t know much about her or if she’s spayed, but she’s had her Parvo shot so she just needs her rabies vaccination. Her teeth aren’t all plaqued up and she’s in good shape health-wise. We think she’s in the 4-year-old range and I’d say she weighs about 40 pounds.

“Harriett’s a real people dog. She’s been here about six weeks and she’s in the office here with us all day. Wherever people are, she wants to be. She doesn’t shed and is house trained. so she’d be good to curl up with and watch TV or read a book. But she’d also make a great companion for someone who likes to work in the yard or take walks. And she’s good with other dogs; she just doesn’t like to be kenneled."

If you’re interested in having Harriett take you for walks or help you read that book, the shelter’s open from 1-5 p.m. Mondays through Friday or from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. Saturdays.

For more information contact McCoy at 254-965-3247 or stop by the ECHS at 891 East Road in Stephenville and meet Harriett in person. You won’t be disappointed.
