Stephenville police received a 9-1-1 call shortly after 1 p.m. Tuesday reporting a gunshot at a residence on Second Street.
When police arrived at the scene they encountered two neighbors - both men - having a verbal dispute.
“One of the men was 66 and the other was 50,” said Stephenville Police Chief Jason King. “I’m not going to release their names at this point because no one has been arrested.”
King said the incident happened on the 66-year-old’s property.
“The 66-year-old fired a shot into the ground because he said he felt threatened,” King said.
The other man reportedly called police.
No one was hurt.
The case will be referred to the district attorney’s office to determine if any charges will be filed.
