After a loss earlier in the week to No. 2 Glen Rose, the Honeybees got back to their winning ways Friday with a dominant sweep over Venus.
Unlike many of their matches this season, Stephenville didn't come out slow in the match's first set as they clinched easily 25-10.
After being tied with the Lady Bulldogs 4-4, Stephenville began what would become a 21-6 run over the set's final 27 points.
The second set didn't get much easier for Venus as the Honeybees once again dominated easily with a 25-7 victory.
Stephenville didn't let off the brakes in the match's third and final set as their offense continued to play at a high level. After taking an early 5-2 lead, Stephenville used a 7-0 run to comfortably distance themselves from Venus to later clinch the match with a 25- win in set three.
Nicona Stilwell led the Honeybees offensively as she racked 15 kills in the match, while Chloe Goodman added another eight. Hannah Huckabee led the team with 14 assists and Kylee Ponder recorded nine digs.
With the win, the Honeybees move to 4-1 in district play and will take on Midlothian Heritage on the road Tuesday.
