The weekend is here with a ton of great area events, including the kick off to Rodeo Heritage Week. Make it a good one, and TGIF!

1. Cowboy Capital Gold Buckle 5K, 1K fun run

Get your running gear on and head over to Stephenville City Park for the Cowboy Capital Gold Buckle 5K and ‘Where’s My Horse?’ 1K Fun Run starting at 7:30 a.m. - registration at 6:30 a.m. - Saturday. Awards will be given out for a variety of categories at the event, which is hosted by Body Shop Fitness Center.

2. Open house and clothing giveaway

Show your support for the Christian Women’s Job Corps at an open house and ‘Boxes of Blessing’ clothing giveaway from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday at 106 North Patrick Street in Dublin. Barefoot Athletics donated boxes of new clothing for the giveaway and while touring CWJC’s new ‘Will do Good’ thrift market, refreshments and prizes will be given out. 3. Rodeo Heritage Parade

The annual PRCA Rodeo Heritage Parade will begin at 5 p.m. Saturday, starting at Stephenville City Park, going through the downtown square and ending back at City Park. The parade is sponsored by the Empire-Tribune. 

4. Taste of Erath County

Tickets are still available for Taste of Erath County benefiting Erath County United Way from 6-8 p.m. Saturday at Bella Vita Ranch. The event will feature 12 vendors serving up specialty appetizers, entrees, desserts and drinks. A live and silent auction will also take place. 5. Back the Red and Blue Concert at City Limits

Six Market Blvd. will be taking the stage along with other artists for the Back the Blue and Red outdoor concert event starting at 2 p.m. Sunday at City Limits. Other artists include Dalton Domino, Phil Hamilton, Austin Meade, Jon Young, Kody West and Cody Jasper and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to local law enforcement.
