The Honeybee and Yellow Jacket cross country teams put on a great performance at the Elk Run meet in Burleson.

The Yellow Jackets brought home first place in the 4A division with Lane Rust finishing 16th, Luis Carrrillo 27th, and Gilberto Garcia 34th overall.

The boys team competed against other athletes from 4A through 6A schools making their finish all that more impressive.

The Honeybees also had a great meet as they placed second behind Brock, who went to the State Meet last year, by seven points.

Anahi Rivas led the girls with a fifth place while Emily Kirbo placed sixth, Elena Balderas in ninth, Avery Forehand in 10th and Mattie Stephens 11th place.

The cross country teams' next meet is scheduled for September 9 when they travel to take part in the Keene Invitational.
