For Blair Landes basketball is a way of life and after hard work over the summer, she is looking forward to kicking off her last season as a senior at Stephenville High School.

“I think it’s going to be a really great year for us and I’m looking forward to playing with my teammates and making it a really good last year,” she said. “I did a lot of working out this summer to get ready for this year.”

Her involvement in basketball will not end after graduation as Landes plans to attend college to become a high school girls basketball coach.

“I’m going to graduate from Tarleton with a major in kinesiology and I want to be a teacher and coach,” she said. “I want to teach history, I love history.”

When asked why she chose Tarleton State University, it was a simple answer for Landes who has grown up in Stephenville.

“Because it feels like home,” she said.

Her goals this year are to make straight A’s and be an example for underclassmen and with that she offers some advice for incoming freshmen.

“I would just say be yourself,” she said. “Don’t try to be someone you’re not.”
