In observance of Labor Day, Tarleton State University will be closed on Monday, Sept. 5, including the offices of all non-essential services on the main campus in Stephenville.

Several campus departments and facilities, however, will remain operational with minimal staffing and modified hours on the Labor Day holiday.

Tarleton’s Recreational Sports Center will operate from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 3;1 to 11 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 4; and from 4 to 11 p.m. Labor Day. The center resumes normal operating hours Tuesday, Sept. 6.

The Dick Smith Library on the Stephenville campus will close at 8 p.m. tonight, and remain closed Saturday through Monday. The library resumes its regular hours at 7 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6.

Tarleton Dining Services, including the Barry B. Thompson Student Center’s Texan Star Food Court, Study Grounds Café in the library, and the C-Store in the dining hall will be closed Saturday, Sunday and Monday. The dining hall, however, remains open during normal hours throughout the holiday weekend.

The Barry B. Thompson Student Center will close at 11 p.m. tonight, and operate from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday, but close all day on Labor Day. The Tarleton Campus Bookstore will also be closed Saturday through Monday.

The Tarleton Food Pantry, located in Room 103-A in the Thompson Student Center, will be closed Labor Day, but resume its regular 1 to 4 p.m. schedule on Wednesday and Thursday, Sept. 7 and 8.

Tarleton’s parking office will close at 5 p.m. today, but university police will continue regular patrol shifts throughout the holiday weekend. In the event of a campus emergency during the holiday weekend, call 254-968-9265 or 9-1-1.
