The Honeybees kicked off tournament play in Granbury Thursday and picked things up throughout the day after a slow start.

Stephenville's tournament began with a match up against L.D. Bell. Early on, the Honeybees showed a bit of rust coming off of only playing two matches on the season thus far.

L.D. Bell ran out to an early 19-9 lead in the match's first set and held on after a late surge by the Honeybees to claim the game 25-18.

The match's second set also didn't go Stephenville's way as L.D. Bell clinched the match with a 25-9 win.

The early loss did awaken Stephenville as they rebounded to claim a three-set victory over Mansfield Timberview 25-20, 18-25 and 25-16.

In the third match of the day the Honeybees once again found themselves outmatched - this time against R.L. Paschal.

Stephenville came out and played a great first set claiming an early 1-0 lead thanks to a 25-21 win. However, Paschal rebounded and bounced back to win the next two sets 23-25 and 16-25.

The Honeybees will continue play Friday, however, a start for Friday's matches is not yet known.
