Congressman Roger Williams will be in Stephenville for a scheduled town hall meeting to present The United States of America Vietnam War Commemoration Vietnam Veteran Lapel Pin, as a lasting memento of the nation’s thanks to Vietnam war era veterans.

Turnbow-Higgs American Legion Post 240 encourages all eligible veterans to attend the presentation ceremony to be held in council chambers at City Hall at 2 p.m. Aug. 22.

All veterans who have not previously signed up for this event are asked to contact Roger Easter, Post 240 adjutant, at rogeaster@live.com or 965-0806, or Harry A. Woodward, commander Disabled American Veterans, at 254-918-5660 and provide name (first/last/middle initial), military rank and branch of service.

This information will facilitate the printing of certificates and must be in the congressman’s office by Aug. 14.

All living United States veterans who served on active duty in the U.S. armed services at any time during the period of Nov. 1, 1955 - May 15, 1975 regardless of location are eligible to receive the pin.
